WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK

THINGS TO DO

King Street

King Street is divided into 3 sections - Lower King Street showcases antique shops and art galleries. Middle King Street offers upscale retail chains and local boutiques. Hit up Upper King Street for it’s energetic nightlife and restaurant and bar scene.

Market Street

Runs between Meeting Street and East Bay Street, just off of King Street. This open-air market has many vendors displaying local art and handmade crafts such as sweet grass baskets and jewelry. It is a great place to pick up souvenirs!

Waterfront Park

The park is located a few blocks from the Charleston City Market and offers fantastic views of the Cooper River Bridge and Charleston Harbor. The park has a pier, where visitors can sit on family-sized swings and watch large container ships enter and exit the harbor. Also, home of the Pineapple Fountain - pineapples represent Charleston’s tradition of hospitality. Visitors are even allowed to wade in the pool of the fountain making it a refreshing destination on a hot summer day.

Shem Creek

A quick drive over the bridge in Mount Pleasant, the waterfront district at Shem Creek is a local favorite with restaurants and bars with gorgeous waterfront views of the Charleston harbor and surrounding marshes. To enjoy the view even closer, book a water adventure or walk the boardwalk at Shem Creek Park, which spans over 2,000 feet long. Standing at the harbor end of the walkway, you can see all the way from Fort Sumter to Castle Pinckney. Shem Creek is a great place to see local wildlife - if you’re lucky, you may be able to see some dolphins!

Sullivan's and Folly Beach

Both are about a 20-25 minute drive from downtown Charleston. Sullivan's Island offers a more relaxed and local vibe with some great restaurants and shops. Folly Beach is known to be a bit livelier and full of character - make sure to stop by Chico Feo and order a Samurai Sling! Both beaches are beautiful places to explore, whether you're looking for a quiet beach walk or a vibrant beach day. Don't forget to look out for sharks teeth!

They offer walking history tours, ghost tours, and culinary tours!
